Tour Description .

This monumental citadel sits atop an extinct volcano that was formed 70 million years ago. Once the home of Kings and Queens, but also the site of numerous sieges; with 26 total, this is the most besieged castle in the entire United Kingdom!

During the tour, we will visit the Royal Apartments, where James VI, the King who unified the English and Scottish Crowns, was born; and where you can now see the Scottish Crown Jewels, the oldest in Europe, and the Stone of Destiny, the ancient coronation stone of the Scottish Kings. We will talk about its museums and its prisons, where banknotes were counterfeited in the 19th century!

Edinburgh Castle hides many mysteries and legends, as well as, without a doubt, the best views of the city. Today it is the most popular castle in Scotland, with more than 2 million visitors each year. If you come to Edinburgh and don’t go to the castle, then you haven’t truly visited the city!
