Tour Description .

Edinburgh Castle is one of the oldest fortresses in Europe, overlooking the capital of Scotland from the top of castle rock. It is an impregnable fortress that has been used for centuries. Today it has become the most visited tourist attraction in the country, and a source of national pride.

The tour begins on the Royal Mile, the most iconic street in the city and will go up to the castle esplanade, where the guide will give an introduction to the tour before entering through the main gates.

Once inside Edinburgh Castle, the guide will take you through the different parts of the fortress and tell you its fascinating history, including Scotland’s kings and queens. Inside the complex you will find three museums, two prisons, a canine cemetery, the Chapel of Saint Margaret which is the oldest building in the city, the National Monument to the fallen of Scotland, the Great Hall and the Royal Palace.

Each building contains its own history and secrets, such as the Honors of Scotland: the Royal Crown, the scepter and the sword, which are the oldest crown jewels in the British Isles. In addition, inside the Royal Palace you will see the Stone of Destiny, a symbol of the State, since it is the coronation stone of the Scottish Monarchs.

Don't miss this unique tour of the magnificent Edinburgh Castle.

Ticket to Edinburgh Castle

If you opt for the 'Tour without Tickets' during the booking process, please ensure that you've independently purchased your entry ticket before the scheduled event. This choice is exclusively designed for individuals who have previously acquired a castle ticket or the Explorer Pass, allowing them to maximize their Edinburgh Castle experience by joining one of our knowledgeable guides for an in-depth tour inside the castle. This option is not suitable for those solely interested in exploring the exterior, as the tour will only briefly linger outside the castle walls. Confirm that your ticket is valid for the same time and day as your booked tour with us. To avoid any disappointment, we recommend securing your ticket well in advance, especially during peak seasons.

It is important to note that without the attainment of a castle ticket, we will not be able to grant you permission to join us on one of our tours.

We learned a lot about Edinburgh Castle and Scottish history thanks to her and we had so much fun. Much love from the Philippines!
